About Us

The Buffalo Osteoporosis Institute was formed as an affiliate of Buffalo Rheumatology on March 15, 1996.  Our mission is to promote better bone health in Western New York by providing specialized Osteoporotic care to patients and their referring practices.  Our goal is to raise the level of awareness of this very prevalent and very preventable condition so that more people at risk will be screened, and ultimately live longer and healthier lives.  We believe that this will also give rise to significant cost savings for patients, health care insurers, and the community at large by helping people to avoid Osteoporotic bone fractures.
